The Oak Cliff Film Festival, in proud partnership with Amazon, The Richards Group and For Oak Cliff are holding a filmmaking workshop for local high school students. In 2022 this workshop offered students a day of conversational film training seminars from some of OCFF’s most esteemed friends and alumni.
Day two provided the students with filmmaking fundamentals and hands-on equipment experience. Our goal for 2023 is to expand on this and the students will produce and direct their own short films to be screened during our Students Shorts Block, at this year’s festival.
The workshop will take place over the course of three days – Saturday February 25, Saturday April 8, with students presenting their films at our final workshop on Saturday June 3. The workshop will be lead by Eric Jewell, Department Chair at Mediatech Institute and will cover all the fundamentals of filmmaking from writing, producing, directing and post-production.
Students are required to pre-register for the event and lunch will be provided each day.
